Khoula Hospital was established in 1974. It was the first surgical Hospital in the Sultanate of Oman . Since then, many departments and medical specialties have been added. The Hospital was chosen as an educational center recognized by the Royal Society of Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Plastic surgery. In 2008, the new organizational structure was adopted and Khoula Hospital become General Directorate. There were more than 2300 staff working at Khoula Hospital in different specialties . The Hospital is one of the distinguished health institutions in the provision of specialized health care and high quality in many fields, ranging from accident and emergency medicine to extension to the specialties of general surgery, orthopedics, orthodontic surgery, hand surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, neurosurgery , Obstetrics and gynecology, intensive care, internal medicine and day care, and support of auxiliary medical services such as radiology, laboratory, nursing, pharmacy and rehabilitation, Nutrition,health education and psychological counseling. Integrated with other departments such as infection control and occupational safety, quality management and patient safety, public relations and patient services, information technology, engineering and maintenance, administrative affairs, financial affairs and human resources. The Hospital also focused on Academic Health education and research health programs and fellowship programs for different specializations and concentrates. In raising the efficiency of all care givers by involving them in various programs that enhance the professional aspect to establish a safe environment for the patients.
