This hospital was opened by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on 26th of February, 1972. At the time of opening, the available health services were medical and Eye with the total bed strength of 60. In the year 1974, ENT Clinic was started at Al Nahdha hospital with a single doctor, and gradually this clinic developed into a unit.
